Postponement of 17th edition of PalmaVela

The Real Club Náutico de Palma announces the postponement of the 17th edition of the regatta due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new dates, also planned for 2020, are to be determined.

Given the imminent extension of the state of emergency decreed by the Spanish government due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 17th edition of the PalmaVela regatta, scheduled from the 6th to the 10th of May on the waters of the bay of Palma, has been postponed.

This was announced today by the organizer of the regatta, the Real Club Náutico de Palma, who describes this decision as one in keeping with the ongoing global health crisis.

Emérico Fuster, president of the RCNP, has declared that in these difficult times for all, it is necessary to follow the recommendations of the health authorities and keep a cool head. "The important thing now is to contribute to minimize as much as possible the devastating consequences of this virus. We have to guarantee the health of our workers, our partners, the sailors and the high competitiveness that we have always seen in PalmaVela. Better times will come and then we will be able to return to the day-to-day life and regattas. ”

The new dates for the 17th PalmaVela, initially planned for this year 2020, will be announced as soon as the current situation allows a new racing program to be scheduled.
